I have the hon. to acknowledge receipt
of the answer to my application
of the 5th October 1903.
2. I beg to gratefully express my
thanks as the conveyance
has been sanctioned.
I understand that the Right Honble the
Secretary of State was informed
in the decision as regards the question
of allowance that the decision was based
on my drawing a higher salary.
I was drawing the same salary as
the other two Inspectors of Police. I
was appointed and I was
also stated to be without quarters - an
apprehension that if I had
to live within close distance of the
Gaol.
